The Eastern Quartet from Zurich, Switzerland, will perform in Sofia on June 25, the City Mark Art Center, host of the event, announced on Monday.

The formation consists of four professionals coming from different parts of Europe. They are Atanas Marinov (Bulgaria), Sorin Spasinovici (Romania), Seraphim von Werra (Switzerland), and Dominic Bloom (Switzerland). According to them, the main goal of The Eastern Quartet is to connect different musical genres in a unique way, using their ingenuity, musical skills and cultural experience that each of them possesses.

"Classically trained, The Eastern Quartet crosses all boundaries with their polyglot musical language. Summing up the special quality of their arrangements in a few words is no easy task: they are parallel forays into classical territory and into far-flung areas of the musical repertoire in which the musicians exercise their spontaneous creativity to produce first-rate, innovative, exciting music that lives and breathes," the release says.
