Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra and cellist Atanas Krastev will stage two concerts for cello and string orchestra under the baton of Konstantin Dobroikov in Bulgaria Hall in Sofia on March 20, the organizers said on Friday.

The first concert will feature works by Grammy-nominated Bulgarian-British composer Dobrinka Tabakova. 

The second part will feature Haydn's Concerto for Cello and String Orchestra No.2. In addition, the Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra will perform an intermezzo from Bartok's Divertimento for String Orchestra.

Tabakova was born in 1980 in Plovdiv. She won the Jean-Frédéric Perrenoud Prize at the 4th Vienna International Music Competition when she was 14 years old. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Guildhall School of Music, where she won the Witold Lutoslawski Prize (1999). She completed her doctorate in composition at King's College London, where she won the Adam Prize (2007).

Her works have been performed in Bulgaria, the UK,  Russia, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, the US, China, Australia.

In April 2013, the recording company ESM released Tabakova's first CD - String Paths. The disc won accolades from BBC Music Magazine, Stereo Magazine, International Music Reviews, and entered the top 3 of the UK classical music charts. In December 2013, String Paths received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Classical Album.

Atanas Krastev was born before 1988 in Sofia, in a family of musicians. He graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music and the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov, Sofia, in the class of prof. Anatoly Krastev. She specialized under prof. Natalia Shakhovskaya at the Queen Sofia Royal Academy in Madrid.

Atanas Krastev was born in 1988 in Sofia in a family of musicians. He graduated from the Lubomir Pipkov National School of Music and Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music, Sofia. He specialized under prof. Natalia Shakhovskaya at the Queen Sofia Royal Academy in Madrid.
