The Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), Milen Mitev, has been elected a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Executive Board, the BNR said on its website on Thursday.

Mitev was elected during the EBU General Assembly, which is being held between November 30 and December 1, 2023, in Geneva.

This is the first time Bulgaria has a representative in the EBU governing body, the BNR added.

The EBU Executive Board is made up of 11 senior executives of public service media and is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the organization's strategy and policies.

BNR Director General Milen Mitev was elected a member of the EBU Radio Committee in April 2023.
