A series of events are coming up for the eighth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World from November 13 to 19, the organizers from the Embassy of Italy in Sofia, together with the Italian Cultural Institute and the ITA agency, announced.

This year's theme is "The Italian Table: the Bliss of Taste" and emphasizes the link between the Mediterranean diet, which is synonymous with a healthy and high-quality diet, and well-being, understood as a proper and healthy lifestyle.

On 13 November there will be a presentation of the new small library on Italian cuisine at the Language Centre of the Italian Cultural Institute. The volumes will be donated by the representation of the Italian Culinary Academy in Sofia. Afterwards, the program offers a short culinary lesson on the preparation and subsequent tasting of tiramisu under the guidance of Prof. Alessandra Gennaro.

On 14 November at the Ethnographic Museum of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will host a presentation "The Rose in the Culinary Tradition", led by Prof. Gennaro. 

On Wednesday, 15 November, Italian Ambassador Giuseppina Zarra will host at her residence a gala dinner with a preliminary invitation, where the star will be the chef Luca Malacrida - current captain of the national team of the Professional Association of Italian Chefs. It will be followed by the presentation of the book "Italian Cuisine in Pictures". 

The next day the chef Malacrida will give a lesson on Italian cuisine with young people from the St. Marina day centre for people with disabilities in Sofia, who participate in different types of therapy and rehabilitation and are taught various manual techniques, including cooking.

Within the Italian cuisine week, events have also been organized in Plovdiv, Bansko and Varna.

The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is an annual themed event organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is dedicated to the promotion of Italian cuisine and quality food products, supported by embassies, consulates, Italian cultural institutes and ITA agencies abroad.
