The Severnyashki Ensemble Ivan Valev - Pleven won silver prize at the international Cheonan World Dance competition in South Korea. The group's performances had the Mayor of Cheonan personally congratulate the ensemble director Danail Tsolov, the ensemble said on its Facebook page on September 25.

The performers were invited to visit the Bulgarian Embassy in Seoul by Deputy Head of Mission Katina Novkova.

As previously reported by BTA, the Korean dance forum is one of the most prestigious international dance competitions and a four-time winner of the Best Festival prize awarded by the Federation of International Dance Festivals. More than a million guests visit the annual event.

The Severnyashki Ensemble's tour in South Korea is the group's third international appearance this year. In July, they performed at the Basel Tattoo 2022 in Switzerland, and before that they were at the Danube Carnival in Budapest, Hungary.

The group's next performance will be in Pleven, North Bulgaria, on Friday.
