The fourth edition of the Treasures of the East Asian Festival took place in Sofia on July 2, the State Institute for Culture with the Foreign Ministry said. This was also the opening of Sofia Summer Fest, which will continue until September 30 in South Park II behind the Earth and Man National Museum.

The Festival is organized on the initiative of the Indonesian Embassy in Bulgaria, together with 11 other diplomatic missions: Cambodia, India, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

In addition to showcasing the culture and traditions of those countries, the event advocated for the 1,000 Cranes campaign in support of people with multiple sclerosis, a cause of the MS - Moga Sam Foundation, the festival's partner this year.

Visitors were able to experience the Treasures of Asia while supporting the festival's charitable initiative. Raffle tickets were on offer for all who want to win prizes such as holiday vouchers, spa treatments, dinners, as well as two airplane tickets to Dubai provided by FlyDubai.

The proceeds will be donated to the fight against multiple sclerosis.

The Asian Festival is supported by the ministries of culture and tourism, Sofia Municipality and the State Institute for Culture with the Foreign Ministry, and is held under the auspices of Vice President Iliana Iotova.
