The new academic year was opened for the 75th time at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) here on Wednesday. The university rector, Prof. Irena Peteva, shared that it was a privilege for her to celebrate the anniversary together with students and faculty, as it filled with a sense of pride and belonging to the educational institution.
Assoc. Prof. Kalina Ivanova, head of the Sts Cyril and Methodius National Library, ULSIT is unique in its essence. She noted the successful partnership between the university and the library.
The Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to Bulgaria, Agneza Rusi-Popovska, wished the students success and noted the good work between ULSIT and the University of Skopje.
Congratulatory messages were received from Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova, Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev, Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov, Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov, Chair of the parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media Toshko Yordanov, the Embassy of Israel in Sofia, Rector of the National Sports Academy Vassil Levski Krasimir Petkov, University of National and World Economy Rector Dimitar Dimitrov.
Among the official guests at the event were Morocco Ambassador to Bulgaria Zakia El Midaoui, Qatar Ambassador to Bulgaria Fahad Ibrahim Ali Al-Mushiri, United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Bulgaria Abdulrahman Ahmed Sultan Essa Aljaber.
