Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chair of Yes Bulgaria, part of the Democratic Bulgaria (DB) coalition, told reporters in the parliamentary lobby on Thursday that Kiril Petkov's resignation announced on Wednesday is a reasonable and responsible action, since taking responsibility is a step towards restoring trust in the coalition. Mirchev was asked to comment on Petkov’s announced resignation as co-chair of Continue the Change (CC) and CC-DB MP.

“Yesterday [Wednesday] we held a coalition council with CC, at which it was agreed that the CC should hold their own forum to give a clear and unequivocal response to the crisis and announce the steps they will take,” Mirchev, who is also a CC-DB MP, said. He was adamant that the CC-DB coalition "will not split to please [GERB leader Boyko] Borissov and [Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning leader Delyan] Peevski".
