The Constitutional Court has denied a request by 48 MPs to interpret provisions in the Bulgarian Constitution related to the tenures of governing bodies that were removed from office early, illegally or unconstitutionally. The court said on its website on Thursday that the decision was made unanimously.
On February 7, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and MECh petitioned the Constitutional Court for interpretation in relation to the tenures of governing bodies that were released early, illegally or unconstitutionally. Back then, Vasil Pandov of CC-DB cited two cases as examples - that of the deputy governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Andrey Gyurov and that of the governor of the National Health Insurance Fund Stanimir Mikhailov.
