Today, the European Commission and the European Central Bank gave a positive assessment of Bulgaria's progress towards economic convergence to the eurozone, and to put it simply, the country can now be part of the eurozone, the leader of There Is Such a People, Slavi Trifonov, wrote on Facebook. “Bulgaria is where it belongs, despite the fears that some people are trying to instill and the outright nonsense and speculation that various political parties with a dubious shelf life are circulating,” Trifonov wrote.

According to him, similar debates were also held when Bulgaria introduced the currency board or when the BGN was denominated, and they turned out to be completely pointless.

“Bulgaria is now a full-fledged member of the European Union. Every Bulgarian is equal to every German, French, Italian, etc. This is an indisputable success,” Trifonov wrote.

“Bulgaria will be better off, and Bulgarians will live better. The truth is that a country does not move forward with fear. It moves forward with rationality and with its head held high,” the TISP leader added.

Following the positive assessment reports, the Bulgarian Government approved Wednesday the establishment of a national coordination mechanism to oversee the monitoring and control processes related to the country’s upcoming adoption of the euro.
