Radostin Vasilev, leader of the Morality, Unity, Honor (MECh) party told the media on Wednesday that “political instability will emerge from here on, despite the fact that for the ruling majority and the parties supporting them, joining the eurozone is a great success”. “I think, however, that it will generate other political processes,” he argued.
Vasilev stressed that the most correct decision was to hold a referendum. He stated that he opposes the idea that people who do not want the introduction of the euro are illiterate, ignorant, scared, deluded, that they are subject to some propaganda.
Vasilev pointed out that Bulgaria needs to go to elections again, and that "this Peevski government must fall". He added that he expects Continue the Change to come and say on what topic a vote of no confidence should be held, and to consult with other political forces. In his words, "a general vote of no confidence by some united opposition would be a good option."
Regarding the introduction of the euro, Vasilev pointed out that from now on, a lot of work will be needed from many politicians if they want something to happen, because "it is very likely that now, with the speculation that has been a characteristic phenomenon for Bulgaria for the last 30 years, that we will harm ourselves."
