The Government press office announced that Ivan Ivanov has been appointed as the Chair of the State Agency for Refugees.

The Government adopted a decision to relieve Mariana Tosheva from her position as chair of the State Agency for Refugees under the Council of Ministers, effective June 5, 2025, and to appoint Ivan Ivanov as the Agency's new Chair. Among the leadership positions Ivanov has held are Deputy Minister of Defence and Governor of Sofia Region.

Tosheva was appointed as the Agency's chair on March 23, 2022.
