The 153rd birth anniversary of prominent Bulgarian revolutionary Gotse Delchev will be celebrated with a diverse programme here on Tuesday, said Gotse Delchev Municipality (Southwestern Bulgaria) on Tuesday.

Starting in the afternoon, a musical programme with songs and dances by young talents from Gotse Delchev will be held in front of the House of Culture, after which wreaths and flowers will be laid in front of the monument to Gotse Delchev on the central square in memory of the freedom-fighter.

The ceremony will be attended by Gotse Delchev Mayor Vladimir Moskov, representatives of institutions, non-governmental organizations, political parties and educational institutions, the Municipality noted.

The evening programme includes a concert.

Georgi (Gotse) Delchev is a modern-day national hero in both Bulgaria and North Macedonia. He is one of the most significant figures of the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organization (IMARO), member of its Foreign Representation in Sofia, Exarchist teacher, and founder of the Insurgent Institute at IMARO.
