The challenges facing Europe and Bulgaria were the focus of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov's conversation with Bulgarian MEPs from all political groups in Strasbourg, the Cabinet press centre said on Tuesday. The Prime Minister met with Bulgaria's representatives in the European Parliament before the start of his talks with the heads of European institutions.
Strengthening European unity, the common market, energy security and common defence security were also discussed at the meeting. Bulgaria must return to the centre of political processes in Europe, the Prime Minister also pointed out. The topics of Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone and the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan were also discussed during the conversation.
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov noted that his current visit to Strasbourg, which is also the Prime Minister's first visit abroad, aims to reinforce with practical actions Bulgaria's clear affiliation to the European family. "The will to achieve results can guarantee success for our country," Zhelyazkov was adamant.
