French trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary is set to return for a new concert in Sofia, the Sofia Philharmonic said here on Friday. On February 27, Sofia's Bulgaria Hall will host a musical experience featuring Vary and conductor Daniel Geiss.

The concert will showcase musical masterpieces blending the romantic depth of Tchaikovsky, the passionate energy of Arutiunian, the vitality of Bernstein, and the jazz magic of Gershwin. The evening's centerpiece will be An American in Paris, a renowned piece that captivates both classical and jazz fans.

Born on January 28, 1999, in Western France, Lucienne Renaudin Vary has been hailed as a "trumpet sensation" by KDFC. She won the Révélation award at the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2016 and was named one of Classic FM's 30 Under 30 in 2021. Her acclaimed albums include Piazzolla Stories (2021), which earned an Opus Klassik award, The Voice of the Trumpet (2017), and Mademoiselle in New York (2019), the latter marking her BBC Proms debut.

Conductor Daniel Geiss, born in Essen, studied conducting, cello, and chamber music in Indiana and Cologne. He has conducted renowned orchestras like the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic and collaborated with prominent soloists. As artistic director of the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra and conductor of the BrixenClassics festival since 2020, he has also staged children’s operas for the Tokyo Spring Festival.

Both artists have previously appeared on stage in Bulgaria. Vary performed at the Sofia Philharmonic's concert on July 21, 2023, where she, under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov, delivered Joseph Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. Geiss led a performance at Bulgaria Hall in Sofia on June 22, 2023, featuring violist Sarah McElravy in William Walton's Viola Concerto.
