site.btaUPDATED TISP Will Do Their Best to Form Cabinet, but Not at Any Cost, Floor Leader Says
During Thursday’s consultations with President Rumen Radev, which he is holding with the parliamentary forces before handing over the first exploratory mandate to form a cabinet, There Is Such a People (TISP) Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov said that the party will do their best to form a regular government, but not at any cost.
According to him, there should be a government only if it will be useful and based on a concrete governance programme and goals.
Commenting on the news of Bulgaria’s accession to Schengen from January 1 of 2025, he said the Schengen accession, belated as it is, will relieve businesses.
"From our point of view, there is a certain problem because the last Denkov cabinet accepted, as part of our accession to Schengen, some conditions that have nothing to do with the requirements. I am talking about the uncontrolled return of migrants to the first country that registered them. It would be a problem for our country if it is implemented. Our parliamentary group will not change its mind that everyone who enters illegally should be deported," Yordanov said.
Yordanov said that TISP have not received an invitation for talks from first mandate holder-to-be GERB.
“From Boyko Borissov’s statement today it is clear that he is talking to some parties, but that doesn’t include us,” Yordanov said, adding that TISP would talk to everyone, except for MRF - New Beginning.
According to him, all the responsibility lies with the first parliamentary force, GERB-UDF.
He stressed that it is still too early to talk about the third mandate and what TISP would do if it gets it.
