site.btaStill No Candidates for Supreme Administrative Court President Position
Once again, there are no candidates for the position of Supreme Administrative Court President. A second session of the plenum of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) was held on Thursday in a repeated attempt to elect the head of the institution.
The first attempt failed, because for four consecutive weeks not a single nomination was put forward.
The court is currently headed by the former Supreme Administrative Court President, Georgi Cholakov. He was appointed acting president, effective November 22 (when his term expired), until the election of a new administrative head.
Cholakov was elected with the support of eight members of the chamber, while two voted against. During the vote, nearly all SAC judges agreed he should remain in charge until the election process is completed.
