The country finds itself in a severe political, financial and social crisis, There Is Such a People MP Stanislav Balabanov said in a statement at the first sitting of the 51st National Assembly here on Monday. "The chaos is complete. Most of our institutions are in total collapse," he added.

"The feeling of a complete lack of justice is extremely strong. Unfortunately, today the people's income is not on the agenda, more important is who owns or who will own the prosecutor general," Balabanov said.

"Today, the agenda is not the reforms in healthcare, education, the battle with the demographic crisis - more important is who will own the regulators. Today it is not the solution that is important, it is the ultimatum. There is no talk of a Bulgarian prime minister, what was important was to find out who is the American President. Today the agenda is not dealing with the migrant crisis and our path to Schengen, it was more important to crush the Bulgarian Constitution so that when elections come, 'our Interior Ministry will organize them'," Balabanov said.

"People are on the streets because in supposedly over 30 years of democratic Bulgaria an attempt was made to crush the free vote. As far as the law allows us, we are doing our best to put an end to this," the MP said.

"The Constitutional Court was already seized of the TISP's request. While we wait for this decision, TISP will do everything in this 51st parliament, however long it may be, to propose amendments to the Electoral Code, to clear the 'tombstone voting' from the electoral lists, so that whenever the next elections are, the Bulgarian citizens know that their vote is guaranteed and protected," Balabanov said.

The time for forgiveness has passed, the MP said. "Bulgarian citizens will relentlessly hold us accountable for our actions and decisions. If we are the government, we must work in the interest of the governed, not in our own interest," Balabanov added.
