The Velichie party has filed a petition with the Constitutional Court demanding a complete or partial annulment of the October 27 vote. This was announced to journalists by Krasimira Katincharova, MP of the 50th National Assembly. She pointed out that 58 MPs from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, BSP for Bulgaria, There Is Such a People and Ahmed Dogan’s faction of MRF, who are now part of the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, have signed the petition.
“Our struggle is principled. We are not trying to get the Velichie into Parliament,” Katincharova said.
She said that one of the scandalous violations the party has found is the replacement of election commission members, despite the explicit ban of the Central Election Commission (CEC), on election day itself. In Varna, for example, there has been a replacement of entire commissions in over 400 polling stations. According to her, on election day the composition of 412 polling stations was partially or completely replaced.
Nikola Pankov explained that 6,400 polling stations, or almost 50% of the polling stations in the country, have been checked in connection with the petition.
