The Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party will not will not support a Parliament chair nominated by GERB, the former party's leader, Radostin Vassilev, told  Bulgarian National Television on Wednesday.

"We will not support a GERB chair of parliament - categorically. And this is something that we have promised our voters," Vassilev said and stressed that the formation would not stand behind Atanas Atanassov's candidacy on behalf of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) because he had heard that "Atanassov had unofficial talks with Boyko Borissov."

"We will not have a candidate, the smallest party purely proportionally should not propose one," Radostin Vassilev said about their possible nomination for Parliament chair.

Regarding the proposed by CC-DB "sanitary cordon" around MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski, Vassilev pointed out that he did does not question that there should be a cordon around him. He turned to the CC with a request to include GERB leader Boyko Borissov in the declaration and in the cordon. "We unconditionally put Peevski in isolation, but we also want [to isolate Alliance for Rights and Freedoms leader Ahmed] Dogan and [GERB leader Boyko] Borisov," Vassilev said.

"With my 12 MPs, I will do everything in my power to fight the model of Borissov and the MRF," Radostin Vassilev added, announcing that MECh will not become a "golden finger" in the new parliament, referring to the government of Plamen Oresharski, which was formed with the support of Ataka leader Volen Siderov, who was dubbed the "golden finger" after providing the last necessary vote in Parliament to form the cabinet.
