"I will not allow the beautiful Montana region to turn into a huge, illegal landfill for domestic waste", said Petar Petrov, Vazrazhdane MP candidate on Wednesday during a meeting with residents in the town of Boychinovtsi.

Petrov also pointed out that the fight against the inaction of local authorities and the neglect of this type of illegal dumps is among the main priorities of Vazrazhdane. He recalled that he had repeatedly asked questions about illegal dumps in the last National Assembly, and that the Environment Minister has visited the region several times to jointly inspect such dumps. As a result of these inspections, a significant number of unregulated landfills were identified and later removed.

"Our children must live and grow up in a protected, safe and clean environment. Because of the permanent careless attitude of the local government, which is starting to turn our beautiful area into a garbage dump, this does not happen. I am glad that thanks to my actions as a representative of the people, the activity of the local municipal organization and the cooperation of the minister, the illegal dumps in Montana region are disappearing one by one", Petrov noted.
