site.btaBulgarian Armed Forces Declare Three-Day Mourning Period after Military Aircraft Tragedy

A three-day mourning period has been declared in the Bulgarian Armed Forces on the orders of caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov because of the crash of an L-39ZA military trainer aircraft at the Graf Ignatievo Air Base (South Bulgaria), the Defence Ministry said on Friday.

Earlier on Friday, while preparing for a demonstration flight at the Air Base, the aircraft crashed and the two pilots lost their lives. 

Bulgarian and foreign political figures expressed condolences to the families of the fallen.
