The big responsibility of the political formations to make it into the next National Assembly is to form a government. In addition to everything else, they will have to restart the trust in the political system, because it is at the bare minimum, Vice President Iliana Iotova told journalists here on Wednesday evening. She was in Varna to open the 20th World Festival of Animated Film.

To her, what matters the most is that all Bulgarians have the opportunity of choice and maximum representation, because one of the biggest defects in the last years is that many people do not exercise their voting right due to not feeling represented. The caretaker cabinet's big responsibility is to make the elections as transparent and fair as possible, to prevent vote buying or trade in influence, and people to go to the polling stations based on their own personal choice.

Iotova added she is unsure whether the type of electoral system is a problem; rather, the issue lies in the political formations, in what they offer, promise and do after the elections. "People can forgive wrong policies, but when they are lied to their faces, whatever electoral system we come up with will serve for nothing," Iotova underscored.
