Customs officers at the Vidin-Danube Bridge 2 border checkpoint have prevented two smuggling attempts, seizing a total of 75,200 contraband cigarettes, the Customs Agency said in a press release on Wednesday.

In one case, the customs officers have found 69,800 pieces of cigarettes in waffle boxes in a refrigerator truck carrying confectionery to the UK.

In another case, during an inspection of a truck travelling to Germany, customs inspectors have inspected a concrete slab. It turned out that 5,400 pieces of cigarettes with Bulgarian excise duty were hidden in the concrete.
