All political actors should seek dialogue to find a way out of the situation, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) co-chair Dzhevdet Chakarov told BNR on Monday, quoted by the MRF press service on Facebook.

BTA reported earlier that President Rumen Radev refused on Monday to decree a new caretaker cabinet proposed by prime minister-designate Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva because of Kalin Stoyanov's nomination for caretaker interior minister.

"We accept the President's refusal to decree a new cabinet led by Ms. Kozhareva with Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, given Radev's considerations that this creates political tension in this pre-election situation," Chakarov said. He pointed out that various political parties in Parliament, such as the MRF faction opposing co-chair Peevski, had voiced this opinion before the decree appointing Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva was issued.

"The primary responsibility of the caretaker government is to organise fair, free, and democratic elections", Chakarov said. "But it is also important that the election campaign is held in a calm environment so that each of us, as citizens, are able to exercise our free will and have a well-organised process. It is evident this cannot happen with the Minister of Interior appointed by Kozhareva," Chakarov added.

Chakarov noted the country’s government should be independent, that all political actors share that responsibility, and should not allow a constitutional crisis. “We owe it to everyone in our nation to do what is necessary to find a way out of this unprecedented situation. By acting responsibly and with good intentions, we can handle these challenges well,” he added.

Chakarov spoke of the need for open conversations to address all topics. "We are ready to talk," Chakarov said. "All political actors should meet and find a solution together. Everyone has a role to play. Then, we should have fair elections to encourage voting and ensure proper representation," he added.
