A 34-year-old Greek citizen was arrested by police officers in Svilengrad after trying to escape a traffic police check, said the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Haskovo.

The pursuit ended at the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda-Ormenio border check point with Greece, where it became clear that the driver had consumed alcohol and did not have a driving license. The Greek admitted that his driver's license was revoked in his home country for drunk driving.

He was detained for up to 24 hours in custody.
