A 16-year-old Syrian citizen was rescued Monday night after reporting that he was lost in a wooded area near Dragoman (West Bulgaria), the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

An hour after midnight, the boy called 112 and asked for help. He was scared, couldn't find his way, broke his leg, and had no water. With the help of the Advanced Mobile Location service and with the data from the GPS coordinates, the child was located. The signal was transmitted to the law enforcement and emergency services.

The boy was found by a border police team, transported and admitted to hospital for treatment.
