In a declaration read out in Parliament on Thursday, Vazrazhdane called for an end to the cordons sanitaires policy in the EU. The declaration was read out by Stoyan Taslakov, Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of European Funds.

He said that the European Parliament began work several days ago, and two groups - Europe of Sovereign Nations, of which Vazrazhdane is a part, and Patriots for Europe - did not get either a deputy chairperson seat or a quaestor position. These two groups are backed by 32 million EU voters, Taslakov recalled, adding that no one can silence and isolate millions of Europeans and their problems.

"This policy of the cordon sanitaire should stop. There is nothing European, democratic, and fair in the current EU in its current appearance. It is high time the Ursula-like clerks began thinking about the problems of European citizens," the MP argued. He was referring to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
