The parliamentary group of "Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (CC-DB) refused to participate in the negotiations for forming a government with a second mandate held by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF). This became clear from a letter by CC-DB floor leader Nikolay Denkov to Delyan Peevski, floor leader of MRF.
"We believe that your approach cannot lead to a government that will work in the interests of the country and restore the voters' trust in the institutions. Together with GERB you caused the early elections, now it is your responsibility to create a government," the letter said.
The reason given for the refusal is the lack of key priorities, including the rule of law, the fight against corruption, reforms in the judiciary, in regulators, a system for conducting fair competitions and full membership in the eurozone and land-based Schengen.
