site.btaEU Commissioner Ivanova, Education Minister Tsokov to Attend Business Forum

European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Iliana Ivanova and Bulgaria's Minister of Education and Science, Galin Tsokov, will take part in a business forum organized by the 24 Chasa daily here on Thursday. The event will take place at Hilton Hotel at 11 a.m. 

The main topics of discussion will be the link between higher education and youth employment, the implementation and benefits of a joint European degree, students and the labor market, and the best practices of businesses in Bulgaria when it comes to internship programmes.

The joint European degree initiative lays the foundations for a common European education area, European Commissioner Ivanova said during a meeting at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in late April, when she conferred with UNWE Rector Dimitar Dimitrov and representatives of the university's academic community. She noted that education was a fundamental part of her portfolio, adding that without quality investment in education, there can be neither innovation nor growth.
