Minister of Youth and Sports Georgi Glushkov gave a greeting on the occasion of June 23,  International Olympic Day and the Day of the Bulgarian Olympian.
Glushkov recalled that Bulgaria has a rich Olympic history, dating back to 1896, when this country was among the 14 participants in the first modern Olympic Games in Athens.

"I congratulate our athletes and their coaches, who brought medals and glory to our country and proudly waved the national flag at the biggest sports forum over the years. You are an example for the young generation of native athletes and the face of Bulgaria to the world," said Glushkov.

There is only a month left until the start of the Olympic Games in Paris. The Sports Minister noted that there is little, but enough time for the final preparation of the Bulgarian athletes who will compete in the French capital. "I am sure that all of you are motivated and will perform worthy of the traditions of Bulgarian sport at the Olympic Games," said.

"I wish all native athletes, coaches and managers good health and achievement of their goals! I am sure that many joyful moments await us with your sporting achievements in the future," concluded the Minister.
