Talking to a briefing before opening the General Assembly of the European League for Economic Cooperation, which is taking place Monday in Sofia, Vice President Iliana Iotova expressed hope that the much needed dialogue between the political formations will start.
According to Iotova, one of the main tasks of the new Parliament is joining the euro area. “We expect inflation to fall, so we expect a stable government and a stable Parliament to be able to complete this process. Without Schengen and the euro area, our final EU membership is incomplete,” Iotova said.
She noted that the dialogue between the political forces in Parliament should start, expressing hope that the emotions from the elections have passed and the parties are now ready to focus on what is best for the country.
The Vice President stressed that Bulgaria is lagging behind in terms of EU finds, not only under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, but also under the operational programmes, adding that all of this should be informing the decisions of the policy makers.
