Atanas Zafirov, who was elected acting Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party on Saturday, wishes Muslims a happy Eid al-Adha, the party's press office said on Sunday.

Zafirov said: "I wish each of you peaceful days, much happiness and prosperity. Eid al-Adha is a spiritual celebration of compassion, respect for all people and solidarity. This is what we all need across the country. These are turbulent times, but we are bound together by those eternal human values, which are at the heart of civilization and are the only path to building a different Bulgaria."

He wished everyone celebrating the holiday health, peace and hope that Bulgaria will have a better future.
