site.btaNational Ombudsman Leaves Office to Become ECtHR Judge

Parliament Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov Wednesday announced the termination of the credentials of National Ombudsman Diana Kovacheva as of April 10. Kovacheva had asked to leave her office to become the Bulgarian judge to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

She was elected to the ECtHR by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on January 24, 2024. Her ECtHR tenure is nine years.
