Continue the Change (CC) Co-leader Kiril Petkov Sunday said that the list of CC candidates for the European elections had been adopted by the party's General Assembly. "We will run in the European elections together with Democratic Bulgaria," Petkov said after the congress CC held here over the weekend.

As for their strategy for the upcoming European and national elections, he said that the Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria coalition must secure first place.

Petkov said that the coalition will show that Bulgaria "can be a normal European country". "We did not and will not betray our principles, and we believe that the future ahead of us will be better," he added.

During the General Assembly, Kiril Petkov and Assen Vassilev were elected as the heads of the CC Executive Council. The Council's members include Nikolay Denkov, Nikola Minchev, Daniel Lorer, Kalina Konstantinova, Lena Borislavova, Venko Sabrutev, Venetsia Netsova-Angova, Hristo Petrov, Andrey Tsekov, Metodi Baykushev, and Petar Kulensky.

The final arrangement of the list of candidates for the European elections will be announced after negotiations with Democratic Bulgaria, Petkov said. Nikola Minchev tops the list, followed by Daniel Lorer, Nastimir Ananiev, Hristo Petrov, Denitsa Simeonova, Iskren Mitev, and Hristo Daskalov.

Petkov argued that CC-DB’s strategy to win first place in the elections is viable because "for nine months we have been reproached for having sold our principles and not keeping our promises, but the Bulgarian people saw that when we were offered a rotation of prime ministers on March 17 and no reform of the justice system, regulators, and services, we said no," Petkov added.

Asked if they would hold talks with GERB after the elections, CC Co-leader Assen Vassilev said: "We negotiated and worked with GERB while they supported the course of action. As soon as they went back on their word, you could see that we were heading to elections," he added.

Vassilev stressed that CC deems it important that Bulgaria follow the European path.
