site.btaKiril Petkov: Government Will Be in This Format After March 6 Too
Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) co-floor leader Kiril Petkov told BTA on Saturday in Kyustendil that talks on the new composition of the cabinet shall continue and assured that there will be a government in its current format even after March 6. Petkov is in Kyustendil, southwestern Bulgaria, for the first Dzhamala masquerade festival there.
Petkov said that his party will keep its promise to support Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel, and that the rotation should be mirrored. In his words, Gabriel should become Prime Minister - the highest position in the country, and now Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov should become Foreign Minister.
The CC-DB co-floor leader expressed his belief that his party's request is adequate.
"I am sure that it does not make sense to put a new person in the role of foreign minister because foreign policy should have continuity and team spirit. Gabriel and Denkov are working well, so I believe this would be the most sensible decision," he added.
Petkov greeted Kyustendil on their newly organized festival and said it will attract tourists to the region.
