Paying a one-day visit to Jerusalem on Monday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said during his meetings with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog: "The State of Israel and the Israeli people have our full support. We are with you." On Denkov's delegation is Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel, the Government Information Service reported.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister told his Israeli counterpart: "We know how difficult today's times are, and that is why we are here. We were all shocked by the terrorist attacks that killed so many innocent people in Israel." Denkov assured the Israeli President that Bulgaria would provide humanitarian support with everything necessary, including medical specialists. "You can count on us," Denkov told Herzog.

The Bulgarian head of government stressed how important it is to get all hostages released as soon as possible, and before that to provide the International Committee of the Red Cross access to them. "I value your efforts to protect the lives of the innocent people. During today's discussions, I saw that you are doing everything possible in these difficult circumstances," Denkov noted.

Denkov also said that Bulgaria is very concerned over the events in the Gaza Strip, knows how difficult the situation in the region is and how important the war's development is for keeping the peace. "We understand your rights to defend the State of Israel and your people. You have the full right to fight against the terrorists, because what they did is unimaginable. Hamas and its entire military and administrative structure should be eradicated; otherwise, there will not be lasting peace," Denkov argued.

Israel's Prime Minister and President thanked Denkov for Bulgaria's unwavering support.

Within his visit to Jerusalem, the Bulgarian Prime Minister also met with relatives of people kidnapped in Gaza. "We will do everything possible to help. This is a nightmare, humanity is important. We must stay together," Denkov told them after he heard their stories about the events following the war's start.
