site.btaRamstein Guard BGR Training Takes Place in Bulgaria's Airspace

A regular Ramstein Guard BGR training took place in Bulgaria’s airspace on Wednesday, said the Defence Ministry. It was conducted by NATO’s Combined Air Operations Centre based in Torrejon, Spain, and aimed to improve the coordination between the air defence formations of Bulgaria’s Air Force and Land Forces when operating in a complex radioelectronic environment.

Ramstein Guard BGR 2023 involved Draken Europe’s DA-20 Falcon electronic warfare aircraft, Bulgarian MiG-29s, and radio-technical and anti-aircraft missile formations of the Air Force and the Land Forces.

The Ramstein Guard training has been held annually in Bulgaria since 2009.
