site.btaInnovation Minister, US Ambassador Discuss Deepening Bilateral Cooperation

Meeting on Thursday, Bulgarian Innovation and Growth Minister Milena Stoycheva and US Ambassador in Sofia Kenneth Merten discussed deepening cooperation between their countries in innovation in education, research and development, health care, energy, defence, culture and creative industries, among other sectors, Stoycheva's Ministry said on its website.

Stoycheva said that Bulgaria can be a leader in creating the new wave of innovation in the region and become a destination for investments in research and development activities with high added value.

"The entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bulgaria is well developed and one of the Innovation and Growth Ministry's priorities is to support and encourage it. We will also work to create a basis for interaction between large companies and startups," she said. Stoycheva added that her Ministry envisages the implementation of key policies in the direction of a green, digital and socially fair transition.

Merten stated that Bulgaria has a huge potential for development and talented people in the field of technology.

The two also discussed the development of the automotive sector and the attraction of investments in this country.
