In the course of the pre-trial proceedings for a double murder on the territory of Sofia, it has been established that the suspect for the crime is the perpetrator of another premeditated murder from 2022, for causing death by negligence, the press centre of the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
In the current pre-trial proceedings, evidence has been received according to which it can be reasonably assumed that there were significant shortcomings in relation to the establishment of the factual situation and the acquisition of suitable evidence concerning an offence committed by the same person in April 2022.
As a result of these findings, Chief Inspector Grigor Yosifov, has been reassigned to a lower position, and the head of the capital's Eighth Regional Police Department is vacating his position.
Checks will be appointed to clarify the severity of the violations found on the part of the respective Interior Ministry officials.
