site.btaBulgaria Appoints Director and Alternative Director in EIB Board of Directors
The government appointed Deputy Minister of Finance Metodi Metodiev as Director for Bulgaria in the European Investment Bank (EIB) Board of Directors and International, together with Financial Institutions Directorate Director Gergana Beremska as his alternative. The decision is related to the procedure for the election of the EIB Board of Directors.
According to the Bank's Articles of Association, the EIB Board of Directors consists of 28 Directors and 31 Alternative Directors. The Directors are appointed by the EIB Board of Governors on the proposal of the Member States for a term of 5 years.
Bulgaria has been a shareholder of the EIB since January 1, 2007 in accordance with the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria to the EU and Article 266 of the Treaty establishing the European Community.
