More than 30% of pregnancies in Bulgaria end in abortion, Prof. Asen Nikolov, head of the Delivery Clinic at Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology "Maichin Dom", said on Friday, referring to data from the National Statistical Institute. The peak of abortions in Bulgaria was in the 1970s, when the country registered 150,000 against 130,000 babies born in a single year.
