Bulgaria’s Registry Agency will broaden the information it provides through the EU's Business Registers Interconnection System (BRIS), the Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday. The caretaker government adopted a bill to amend and supplement the Trade Register and Non-profit Legal Entities Register Act so as to transpose the requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/1151 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 amending Directive (EU) 2017/1132 as regards the use of digital tools and processes in company law.
Under the bill, the Registry Agency through the BRIS will immediately provide information on the registration and closure of a branch of a foreign national, as well as on the circumstances regarding the company, legal form, registration number, headquarters, representation, management and control bodies. The Registry Agency will also have to provide an option for obtaining information on the registration and closure of a branch in another EU Member State of a company registered in Bulgaria.
