1947: Diplomatic relations with the Netherlands are restored. Established June 8, 1909, at legation level, promoted to embassy level April 11, 1968.

1990: Bulgaria joins European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations.

2002: Cabinet approves Bulgaria's position on Energy chapter in EU membership talks, including decommissioning of Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant's Units 3 and 4.

2002: In New York, Bulgarian Brady bonds are swapped for global Eurobonds. Face value of Bulgaria's foreign debt is reduced by USD 107 million.

2003: Parliament ratifies Protocol with 1979 Geneva Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution.
