site.btaComplaint Postpones New Procedure for Election of BNT Director General

The new procedure for election of a director general of the Bulgarian National Television was postponed after a complaint was filed on the evening of July 6, said Council for Electronic Media Chair Sonya Momchilova on Thursday. She said that the complaint was filed in connection with the closure of the previous procedure.
Thursday’s meeting of the regulator comes eight days after it failed to elect a nominee to fill in the post.
Eight candidates contested the competition: Sasho Dikov, Irina Velichkova, Vassilena Matakieva, Emil Koshloukov, Venelin Petkov, Krassimir Angelov and Svetlana Bozhilova.
Four of them received votes at three different meetings but none managed to secure a majority.
