site.btaJustice Minister Discusses Counter Corruption Efforts with Basel Institute of Governance Chief
Justice Minister Nadezhda Yordanova on Thursday held a working meeting with the Managing Director of the Basel Institute on Governance Gretta Fenner and her team, the Justice Ministry said. The talks focused on a wide range of topics among which the fight and elimination of corruption and recovery of public funds diverted through corruption and related financial crimes.
On Wednesday the Bulgarian government and the Institute signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The cooperation with the Institute will help draw up and apply an effective legislative and institutional framework related to efforts against corruption and financial crimes as well as drawing up and implementing an effective national strategy for counter corruption efforts.
The Basel Institute on Governance is an independent not-for-profit competence centre working around the world to strengthen governance and counter corruption and other financial crimes and asset recovery.
