Nearly 35,000 calls were made to the National Child Helpline (NCH) number 116 111 in 2021. The service is run by the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP) who said that the number of boys who seek help over the phone remains higher than the girls. Children call to discuss their relations with peers, making friends, and the need for socializing, the SACP said.
