Ivaylo Simeonov is a presidential candidate in the upcoming elections on October 25. He was put forward by a nomination committee alongside vice-presidential candidate Kosyo Stoychev, in accordance with a decision by the Central Election Commission.

Simeonov has served as the Mayor of Elin Pelin Municipality since 2015, according to biographical information provided by the nomination committee. He has also been a member of the Management Board of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) since 2015. 

He graduated from the Technical University of Sofia as a communications engineer from the Faculty of Communication Engineering and Technologies. In 2009, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the university's Faculty of Management on the topic "Managing Human Potential Development in Innovative Organizations." In 2012, he obtained a Master's degree in Economics, specializing in Corporate Security, from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE). In 2021, he earned a Master's degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from New Bulgarian University. Simeonov is the founder and first chairman of the National Representation of Student Councils (NRSC), established under the Higher Education Act.

He has authored over 35 academic publications in the fields of education and information technology. He serves on the governing bodies of the North American-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, the Bulgarian-Kazakh Chamber of Commerce, and the "Civil Initiative Bulgaria" organization.
