The Council of Ministers approved a Programme for Supporting Bulgarian Communities, Organizations and Media Abroad for the 2026-2028 period, the Government Information Service reported Wednesday. The Programme is aimed at Bulgarian communities and organizations abroad, which play an important role as a connecting link between various representatives of the Bulgarian diaspora, contributing to the timely informing of Bulgarians abroad about processes, events and initiatives in and beyond the borders of Bulgaria.

The Programme will support initiatives of Bulgarian communities, organizations and media in the countries of the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe with a traditional Bulgarian population, aimed at creating capacity to identify and counter fake news, disinformation and external interference and information manipulation.
