Unexploded ordnance discovered near kilometre 376 of the Bulgarian section of the Danube River, in the Silistra region, was rendered safe by servicemembers from a military unit in Shumen, under the command of Major Angel Ivanov, the Defence Ministry reported on August 17.

Two mortar bombs, measuring 30 cm in diameter, and three cannonballs, measuring 10 cm and 15 cm in diameter, were transported to the Divdyadovo Training Centre and destroyed there, with strict safety measures in place.
